Passage in Athens - Piraeus
By plane in Athens International Airport. You can select:
Taxi to Athens/Piraeus with cost around 30 Euros.
Bus. You can take the X96 bus route to the center of Piraeus (duration of route 60-80 minutes). Since some buses go on from the bus terminal of the airport, it is advisable to ask before boarding if the specific bus goes to the center of Piraeus. You must get off the bus at «Venizelos» bus-stop (Grigoriou Lampraki Street) or «Dimotiko» bus-stop, depending on the hotel. Tickets cost 5 Euros (one way). You can continue on foot or by taxi.
Metro (Underground). You must take the line 3 from the airport (tickets cost 6 Euros) and change at «Monastiraki» station in the line 1 to Piraeus. You can reach the hotel you stay on foot or by taxi.
Suburban railroad, which is connected with the Larissa railway station.
Car. Coming out from the airport «Eleftherios Venizelos», follow the Attiki Odos speedway and take the exit with the finger post Vari on your right. When you reach the crossway with the coastal road Akti Poseidonos in Voula, turn right. Following this route, you pass Voula, Glyfada, the old airport, Palaio Faliro and the athletic center of Neo Faliro and after the finger post «Center of Piraeus», you turn on the left in the small bridge above the railway lines, following the signs.
By Bus from all the other regions of Greece. The following contacts will help you to program your travel. There are two central bus stations.
The first is located at Kifisos Street, 100 (tel. +00302105129233) and serves the buses from and to Peloponnesus and Northern Greece. In this case, you can select:
Taxi from Syntagma square to Piraeus with cost around 5 Euros.
Bus. You should take the 51 bus roue to the center of Athens. Following, you could take the metro or the train to Piraeus.
The second station, which is located at Liosion street, 260 (tel. +0030210-8317096), serves the buses from and to Central Greece. Apart from the taxi, there is the 24 bus route, which stops in the Amalia Avenue in the entry of National Garden. Few squares below, there is the Syntagma square where you can be served from the Metro.
By train. Information with regard to the timetables you can find calling the telephone number 145 or 147.
From Southern and Western Greece in the Peloponnese station (tel. +0030210-5131601), the distance is roughly 1,5 kilometer north-west of Omonoia square.
From Northern Greece in the Larissa Station (tel. +0030210-5298837).
Apart from taxi, trolley passes from Omonoia square, Syntagma square and Koukaki.
By ship in the harbor of Piraeus that is found in distance of 25 minutes from Monastiraki square and Omonoia square, through the ATHENS PIRAEUS ELECTRIC RAILWAYS (ISAP).
By car.
From the National Road No.1, that links Thessalonica with Athens, you drive to the end where the Kifisos Avenue is crossed the coastal avenue and turn right to Piraeus. You pass the athletic stadiums and after a destination of 1 km you turn left hardly you see the finger post «Piraeus Center» in the small bridge above the railway lines.
From the National Road No.2 , that links Patra and Corinthos with Athens, after you enter the city in the region Of Dafni, you pass the suburbs of Chaidari and Peristeri. When you insert in the region of Aigaleo, follow the right lane of the street passing next to the bridge and turn right after you see the finger post «Piraeus» in Kifisos Avenue. You drive to the end where the Kifisos Avenue is crossed the coastal avenue and turn right to Piraeus. You pass the athletic stadiums and after a destination of 1 km you turn left hardly you see the finger post «Piraeus Center» in the small bridge above the railway lines.
